Location rates near the top of the high acclaim for the Radisson Blu Glasgow, but at this award-winning hotel there is much more to praise. Close to the best shopping outside of New York and Paris, and situated opposite Glasgow Central Station, this very stylish and luxurious jet-set city hotel’s modern architecture stands tall against the historic and modern city centre. With its bold stance over the city, the Radisson Blu Glasgow’s 250 rooms, including 20 business-class rooms, 12 junior suites, 3 corner suites, and a luxurious apartment, is an impressive base for both business and leisure travelers. On par with the best city hotels in the world, this 4-star hotel will impress visitors with its design. Business travelers will find that the extensive array of services and spaces make the Radisson Blu Glasgow a productive outpost.

In keeping with the modern sleek architecture, visitors encounter three white desks set against a dark back wall upon their arrival, and that minimal aesthetic is continued throughout the hotel. There are three fabulous room types offered for the guest including City, Modern, or Nordic. I chose a Modern, and the clean lines and softer tones were restful, clean, and inviting. My room featured floor to ceiling windows, which provided a captivating view of the surrounding city. The spacious corner suites are amazing and, in addition to the stunning views, are complete with large separate seating areas and flat screen televisions.

Before checking out the sites and the sounds of Glasgow, ease into the city’s pulse with a cocktail at the hotel’s Atrium bar. At Collage, one of the hotel’s restaurants, Mediterranean cuisine prepared with a modern twist is served in a subdued yet sexy setting. Collage Bar comes alive nearly every night; this standout winner of the “best theme bar” in Scotland features a DJ on Friday and Saturday night. For a special dining experience, TaPaell’Ya is a wonderful spot. The authentic Spanish cuisine is complimented by an extensive selection of Spanish wines.

The Radisson Blu Glasgow is a hotel that has embraced style and made it part of every aspect of the hotel and their hospitality making it a perfect stop for jet setters that are adding Glasgow to their list of happening places to visit. With a unique art and music scene and shopping, dining, and nightlife reaching new heights everyday, Glasgow is place that should be on everyone’s list of vibrant cultural centers to discover.
