Story by Ken Panton

Come pull up a beach chair and let me tell you about something that is special and welcoming: the Watercolor Inn & Resort located on Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The Watercolor Inn is a world-class luxury resort graced with refinements that make the world’s top boutique hotels pampering and distinctive. The Watercolor Inn was design by acclaimed architect David Rockwell to embrace the traditions of high Southern Hospitality, with services and amenities that rival a mega hotel, while preserving the intimacy of luxury beach house.

Upon your arrival in the spacious lobby at the Watercolor Inn & Resort it becomes evident that there is something special for couples, unique for families and perfect for a getaway. All rooms face the wide coast and beach. The expansive Gulf views from the top floors are spectacular while ground floor accommodations are complete with a private cabaña. The rotunda rooms are truly magical and highly recommended. The large guest rooms are outfitted with comfortably large king-size bed and a queen sofa sleeper.

Central to each room's original design as large walk-in showers with inset windows that overlook the beach. Thoughtful touches include an entertainment armoire, a cherry mini-bar, two-line speakerphones with voice mail and data ports, a CD/DVD player, high-speed Internet access, cable television, a business desk, ceiling fans, electronic safes, and a coffeemaker.

The Watercolor Inn is more than just a beach resort. Fine dining at their inventive Fish Out of Water restaurant is worth the trip itself. For the perfect experience, may I suggest a corner table by the deck at sunset where exceptional views and the calm solitude of natural waterfront can truly be cherished.

Active guest will find challenges at golf, kayaking, or working out at the gym equally satisfying. All guests should find time to relax at one of the resort’s two pools and take in the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico with a long walk on the beach. There are many sites to be seen at the beaches of South Walton.
